Prismatic members representing rectangular and round shaped sections are mapped to the Rectangular Shapes and Solid Round section types in OpenBuildings Station Designer. The OpenBuildings Station Designer section file syntax allows for rectangular types to be mapped using width and depth values. Section file syntax allows for solid round section types to be mapped using outside diameter values.

Example STAAD.Pro Syntax

The following examples were taken from a STAAD.Pro file with linear units set to meters. The first examples demonstrated the creation of a solid rectangular member having the dimensions of 1 meter x 1 meter and a solid round member with a diameter.
